	Verse of the day for 7/29/2010

	2 Peter 3:1 -- This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory. (NLT)

	Peter, who wrote this letter, was a good Christian friend. Good Christian friends stimulate you to think about God. How can you stimulate your friends to "wholesome thinking"?

Volunteering is fun, fulfilling, and helps people worldwide. The Bible has made a difference in your life. Now your volunteer efforts can provide God’s Word to thousands of others around the world. You can be part of a team of over 1,000 committed volunteers across the country who know that God’s Word makes a difference.

Volunteering at a Thrift Center can give you…

Purpose. What can give you more purpose than to work in a ministry that places the Word of God in the hands of the spiritually hungry around the world?

Fulfillment. Working at the Bibles for Missions Thrift Centers offers a person fulfillment in obeying Christ’s command in the Great Commission to “teach them all I have commanded you,” Matthew 28:20. This is not only accomplished by placing Scriptures around the world; this is also done in daily contact with customers whose first glimpse of Jesus’ love may be in the actions and attitudes of dedicated Christian volunteers.

Enjoyment. Volunteers at the Thrift Centers constantly mention, “We have a lot of fun volunteering here.” They enjoy the fellowship as they work together toward a common goal.

Dear Brothers and Sisters at the Worthington Thrift Center,

Grace and peace in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a joy to share with you the blessings of your hand and dedicated work to provide Scriptures to the people of Kenya.

If it were not for your commitment, the hundreds of souls that have come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior would have died without the Savior. Lives have been changed, families restored, communities transformed, and a great revival witnessed as the Word of God penetrates into peoples’ lives.

You may not be able to see the joy of those who turn to the Lord, but we in Kenya would invite you all to share this joy in the Spirit, being sure of this thing, “That your labor is not in vain!”
